A downloadable bastardized classic

AVAILABLE IN PRINT AT SPEAR WITCH: https://spearwitch.com/products/bastion-on-the-frontier-a-bastardized-classic

Bastion on the Frontier is a bastardized conversion of the classic dragon game module Keep on the Borderlands. A module loved by gamers for generations now gets a fresh overhaul for the exciting and deadly adventure game by Micah Anderson - bastards.

Known for its EPIC megadungeon, The Caves of Chaos, B2 is most likely the most played adventure setting - and you can play it for yourself in that After-school Revolution style of play!

Tackle the Grotto of Discord, explore the Lonely Bastion, evade wandering tribes of Lungfishfolk or the Wizened Crone and her Puma, infiltrate the marauders at Brigand's Rest, and chart new adventures in the Forgotten Caverns.

This A6 adventure module is game ready for bastards. or many other old-school style games. Within its 40 pages, Bastion on the Frontier contains:

  • A hexcrawl with Eight keyed location.
  • Four exploration sites.
  • Four keyed encounters.
  • A full bestiary.
  • 5 maps.
  • and much, much more!

There is some much to add to a Wider World for a grand bastards. campaign. For loads more awesome things, check out the Bastards. Jam

Glad you asked. This module is only the beginning. Matthew Morris and Jon Davis have teamed up to bring you THE BASTARDIZED CLASSICS BC1-4. This collection will recreate, in the same vein as Bastion on the Frontier did, S1 Tomb of Horrors, S2 White Plume Mountain, S3 Expedition to the Barrier Peaks, and S4 The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth.

The first two, Vault of Doom and Peak of Voe, will becoming in Zine Month 2023 #ZiMo2023. The remaining two, Vale of Stars and Cave of Fiends, will drop in late summer.

Want a sneak peak? Why not...

Cool eh? Well stay tuned, but for the meantime enjoy

Will there be another print run?

it arrives later this month!!!

Very cool adaptation indeed! One little thing tho: I can’t help but notice the lack of goblin stats and description, witch is a shame, taking into consideration the hobgobling and bugbear’s refer to it. Pretty cool concept, the goatfolk, none the less

Thank you so much for the comment. This is intended for use with the Bastards system which has Goblin stats in its core rules book, thus the exclusion. Glad you enjoyed this!

Not sure if the Vault of Doom map is colorblind friendly, but it never hurts to key in shape as well as color for legibility!

Small thing, but it looks like the key for the hexmap says "Hills of the Lizardfolk" while the page after with the description says "Hills of the Lungfishfolk"

This is awesome, though!!!

Shoot! Good catch! I will fix that
